‘고척만 진행합니다’ 23rd KBO League, Jamsil + Incheon + Suwon + Daejeon canceled due to rain

Four KBO League games scheduled for the 23rd have been canceled due to rain. Only the Gocheok Dome will be played.

The game between the Lotte Giants and LG Twins at 4:15 p.m. at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul was the first to be canceled. It was the second day in a row that the game was canceled. Lotte’s Aaron Wilkerson and LG’s Lee Jung-yong, who were scheduled to start on the 22nd, were also scheduled to start on the 23rd, but were postponed due to two days of rain.

On the 24th, Lotte’s Charlie Barnes and LG’s Casey Kelly will face off against foreigners.

Barnes hasn’t fared well for LG this season, allowing four or more runs in five innings or less in all three of his appearances. She is 2-0 with no wins and a 9.26 ERA.

Kelly is also winless against Lotte, but he hasn’t gotten much help from his teammates despite pitching well. On April 13 against Lotte, he gave up eight runs in 5⅓ innings, with four unearned runs. On May 31, he gave up three runs in six innings, and on June 23, he gave up one run in eight innings (unearned).

The game between the NC Dinos and SSG Landers at SSG Landers Field in Incheon was canceled for the second consecutive day due to ground conditions. NC’s Choi Sung-young and SSG’s Moon Seung-won, who were scheduled to start on the 23rd, had to postpone their appearances to the next day.

On the 24th, NC will send out Lee Jae-hak and SSG will send out Kirk McCarty.

Lee Jae-hak will make his first start in two months. It will be his first start since being sidelined on June 22 against the Changwon LG, when he was hit in the foot by a batter’s pitch and suffered a fractured metatarsal in his left foot. In six appearances this season, Lee has made one start against SSG, tossing seven innings of nine-hit ball and earning the win.

McCarty has appeared in three games against NC this year, going 2-0 with no wins and a 2.25 ERA. McCarty has recorded quality starts in all four of his August games, but he hasn’t received any offensive support and is winless in five straight starts, including his return from left hand inflammation on July 26.

The KIA Tigers and KT Wiz were not spared the rain. The game between Kia and KT, which was scheduled to be held at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, was canceled due to rain. The two teams, who played the previous day, will take a day off from their scheduled starters, Thomas Pannoni and Ko Young-pyo, to prepare for the 24th.

KIA, which lost its second straight game with a 4-8 defeat the day before, will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak with Pannoni. Signed as a replacement for Shawn Anderson, Pannoni is 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA in six appearances and 34⅔ innings pitched. The KT bats will meet for the first time.

KT will try to win 11 consecutive games. Ko Young-pyo is on a hot streak with 11 consecutive quality starts. However, he has faced KIA twice this season, taking the loss both times. On May 30, he was limited to two innings and three runs (two earned) due to back pain, and on July 8, he took the loss after giving up three runs in seven innings and getting no help from his bats.안전놀이터

The game between the Samsung Lions and Hanwha Eagles at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon looked like it was going to be a normal playoff game, but it was canceled just before the start.

The starting pitchers for the day were Baek Jung-hyun for Samsung and Han Seung-ju for Hanwha. Baek Jeong-hyun pitched 6⅔ innings of one-run baseball against LG in Daegu on July 17 and earned the victory against leader LG. Han Seung-ju had been moved to the bullpen after the July 5 game against Lotte in Daejeon.

Prior to the game, Hanwha expunged the first-team roster of infielder Ha Ju-seok, who made a clutch error with two outs in the top of the ninth inning that could have ended the game. Ha, who joined the first team after completing his DUI suspension, was batting .114 in 25 games and was struggling at the plate, and his crucial error cost the team the game. Hanwha designated outfielder Kwon Kwang-min for assignment.

Meanwhile, at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, which was not affected by the rain, the Doosan Bears faced the Kiwoom Heroes. Doosan started Brandon Waddell and Kiwoom started Jang Jae-young, with Doosan winning 6-1 the previous day.
