Saudi Arabia’s deep pockets are luring veteran European stars.
“Al Ittihad are scrambling to sign Joao Moutinho (Wolverhampton Wanderers),” Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
In recent years, the Saudis have been in the market for European veterans. Cristiano Ronaldo’s (Al Nasr) move to Saudi Arabia sparked a full-scale recruitment drive.
After beating Al Nasr to the title, Al Ittihad signed Real Madrid’s key forward and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.
The club is also looking to add a midfielder to support Benzema. Moutinho and N’Golo Kante (Chelsea) have been linked with the club.먹튀검증
Moutinho has a close relationship with Nuno Espirito Santo, who is in charge at Al Ittihad, as they are both Portuguese and also played together at Wolverhampton.
