Daegu City Hall beats Incheon City Hall to open handball league, ending 12 consecutive losses

Daegu City Hall broke the chain of 12 consecutive losses in the opening of the 2022-2023 SK Handball Korea League.

Daegu City Hall won 32-28 against Incheon City Hall in the second round of the women’s division held on the 26th at Samcheok Civic Gymnasium in Gangwon-do.

Daegu City Hall, who suffered 12 consecutive losses without winning a single match after the opening of the league, earned its first win late in the season.

Daegu City Hall, which led 17-14 in the first half, widened the gap to 6 goals at one point in the second half, but at the end of the game, Incheon City Hall Kim Han-ryeong and Kim Seol-hee conceded consecutive goals and were chased by 2 goals.

However, Daegu City Hall won by 4 goals as Lee Hye-won and Choi Kyung-bin succeeded in scoring consecutively.

Rookie Lee Hye-won, who joined Daegu City Hall with the first overall pick in the rookie draft in October of last year, led the team to its first win with 8 goals and 6 assists.

Choi Kyung-bin (7 goals), Kim Seon-hwa, and Kim Hee-jin (more than 6 goals) also scored multiple goals to help the team escape losing streak.
