The ‘mystery’ of former SSG Landers pitcher Wilmer Font has been solved.
The El Paso Chihuahuas, a Triple-A team affiliated with the San Diego Padres, placed Font on the 60-day injured list on the 1st (Korean time).
The location and extent of Fonte’s injuries are unknown. Considering he was placed on the 60-day disabled list with the season opener, it’s likely a serious injury.토토사이트
Font signed a minor league contract with San Diego earlier this season that included an invitation to spring training.
However, he did not pitch in a single spring training exhibition game. In the end, it turned out to be due to an injury.
Font played an ace in 2021 and last year at SSG. His last season, he threw 184 innings in 28 games, posting a 13-6 record with a 2.69 earned run average.
However, Font is known to have rejected SSG’s offer to renew his contract, expressing his intention to return to the major leagues.
Had he re-signed with SSG, he could have pocketed a total of $2 million. In 2022 he received $1.5 million.
