Jamsil saw a tense pitching battle between Doosan starter Choi Won-jun and NC starter Shin Min-hyuk. Doosan scored the first run. In the top of the second inning, Yang Seok-hwan broke the scoreless tie with a solo home run to left field. On an unfavourable count of 1B-2S, he took Shin Min-hyuk’s four-pitch fastball (146km) to centre for his 11th home run of the season. It was his second straight game with a home run, following a multi-homer game against Gochuk Kiwoom on the 25th.

NC came up short in the second and sixth innings. In the second inning, Yoon Hyung-jun singled to right and Lee Jae-hwan walked to put runners on first and second, but Park Se-hyuk flied out to left and Kim Joo-won flied out to right, and in the sixth, Seo Ho-chul doubled and Park Min-woo singled to end the inning with runners on second and third.

The deciding run came in the eighth inning. One out later, Park Kye-beom led off with a single to right. Kim Dae-hyun struck out swinging, but Jung Soo-bin broke the 1-1 tie with a triple to right-centre, and Heo Kyung-min followed with an infield single to drive in the winning run.

NC pulled within one run in the bottom of the ninth on Park Se-hyuk’s RBI double and Kim Joo-won’s RBI triple, but it wasn’t enough to tie the game.

Doosan starter Choi Won-jun pitched six innings of three-hit ball with one walk and four strikeouts, but bullpen struggles cost him his second win of the season. He was followed by Jung Chul-won, Kim Myung-shin, Park Chi-kook and Hong Gun-hee, with Park picking up his third win of the season and Hong his 16th save.

NC starter Shin Min-hyuk was also unable to secure the win despite allowing one run on three hits (one home run) in six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Ryu Jin-wook took the loss. Multi-hit games from Seo Ho-cheol and Kim Ju-won were the only bright spots in the loss.
