The Toronto Blue Jays saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in extra innings.
Toronto battled through 10 innings of extra innings against the Minnesota Twins at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday before falling 2-3.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning. Minnesota struck first. In the fifth, Lewis led off with an infield single. Vasquez struck out, but Taylor hit a two-run arch over the left field fence to start the inning.
Toronto battled back in the bottom of the fifth, putting runners on first and second with a walk to Espinal and a single to left by Heinemann. Bisset followed with an infield single. Guerrero Jr. walked to load the bases, but no one would score.
Two batters later in the sixth, Espinal singled to right-center and Springer doubled to left-center to tie the game at 2-2. The game was not decided in the regular innings. The game went to extra innings and Minnesota regained the lead, 3-2, on Taylor’s sacrifice fly to left field. Toronto failed to score in the bottom of the 10th, falling to 2-3.
Toronto starter Kikuchi allowed two runs in five innings. Cimber took the loss with one run in ⅔ of an inning. Springer and Heinemann each had multi-hit games.먹튀검증
Minnesota’s fifth starter, Duran, earned the save with two scoreless innings of relief. Lewis had a four-hit one-hitter, while Taylor drove in three runs on his own.
