Kim Sang-soo out of the first team, Lee Ho-yeon as protection…KT Keystone Combo dismantled

The KT Wiz Keystone Combo has been disbanded.

Lee Ho-yeon started at second base against the Lotte Giants in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Sajik Stadium on April 26.

In his first at-bat, Lee singled up the middle in the top of the first inning to set the tone. However, he collided with teammate Kim Min-hyuk while chasing a fly ball in the outfield.

After lying down and complaining of pain, Lee got up and finished his defense in the bottom of the first inning, but was replaced by pinch-hitter Park Kyung-soo with two outs in the top of the second inning to end the game.

A KT official said, “Lee Ho-yeon is experiencing pain in his left thigh after colliding with Kim Min-hyuk while fielding in the first inning. We replaced him to protect the player and are currently icing him.”안전놀이터

Ahead of the game, KT removed infield commander Kim Sang-soo from the first team roster. Sayu plans to undergo a midweek medical examination for a left ankle sprain. The exact extent of the injury will be known after the examination. As a result, KT will be without its starting second baseman and shortstop.

The game is currently tied 1-1 at the end of the second inning.
