The first interim results of the “Best 12” fan voting for the 2023 KBO All-Star Game have been announced.
Sharing All-Star outfielder Lee Jung-hoo (25, Kiwoom Heroes) received the most votes (500,241 total) in the first interim tally announced on Wednesday.
The Lotte Giants of the Dream All-Stars led the midterm tally in 10 of the 12 categories except for the third base and outfield spots. The KIA Tigers have the second-most, totaling five.
Some positions are hotly contested.
The smallest vote gap is in the Dream All-Star Outfielder category. Lotte’s Kim Min-seok (394,835 votes), Samsung Lions’ Koo Ja-uk (389,354 votes), and Lotte’s Jack Rex (301,873 votes) form the top three. Samsung’s Jose Pirela received 286,852 votes (fourth place), trailing Rex by just 15,021 votes.
Lotte’s Yoo Kang-nam (347,868 votes) and Doosan Bears’ Yang Yang-ji (297,779 votes) are also battling it out for Dream All-Star Catcher. They are separated by 589 votes. At first base, Lotte’s Ko Seung-min has 337,883 votes, but KT Wiz’s Park Byung-ho (267,438) is close behind with just over 70,000 votes.먹튀검증
Except for outfielders, the remaining positions are separated by more than 100,000 votes.
In the Nanum All-Star, the gap between the top vote-getter at third base, Noh Si-hwan of the Hanwha Eagles (384,478 votes), and the second-place finisher, Ryu Ji-hyuk of KIA (270,29), is the smallest.
The All-Star Fan Vote will be open until June 25. In addition to the fan vote (70%), the players’ votes will also count for 30%. The final Best 12 list will be announced on June 26.
Meanwhile, this year’s first midterm tally totaled 965,475 votes, an increase of about 62% from last year’s first midterm tally (601,701 votes).
