Italian Serie A AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho took a shot at his hometown team Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy. Mourinho did not win the title at Tottenham because of Levy. In the end, Spurs remain irrelevant.
Mourinho criticized Tottenham and Levy at a media event ahead of the Europa League final between AS Roma and Sevilla.
According to Italian media, Mourinho said that Tottenham is the only team he doesn’t have a relationship with.
Mourinho has managed several teams in Europe, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Tottenham. He’s won 26 titles. However, he hasn’t won a trophy with Tottenham.
Mourinho won six trophies with FC Porto, eight with Chelsea, five with Inter Milan, three with Real Madrid, three with Manchester United, and one with AS Roma.
Mourinho said: “I don’t want Tottenham fans to get the wrong idea. “I hope Tottenham fans don’t misunderstand, because when I was manager of Tottenham, there were no crowds because of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added. Most of Mourinho’s games during his tenure at Tottenham have been played away from home.
Mourinho had a different story to tell. “A week before the Carabao Cup final, Tottenham president Daniel Levy sacked me, and that’s why we didn’t win it,” Mourinho said.
Mourinho was appointed Tottenham manager in November 2019 and sacked on April 19, 2021. His dismissal came just a week before the League Cup final against Manchester City. Mourinho had nothing but praise for Levy, who had a chance to win the title, but was forced to leave Tottenham without ever facing City.
Tottenham hasn’t reached a final in any competition since then. They’ve been irrelevant ever since, and that irrelevance has led to the departure of their ace, Harry Kane.먹튀검증
Despite firing Mourinho, Spurs lost the final 0-1 to Man City. The acting manager was Ryan Mason, who is now in charge of Tottenham. Son was caught on camera breaking down in tears after the final.
Meanwhile, Daniel Levy, who sacked Antonio Conte, is still undecided on his successor. A number of coaches have been rumored to be in the running, but have since withdrawn themselves from consideration.
On May 25, Feyenoord coach Arnar Slott withdrew his candidacy. He declared that he has no intention of leaving Feyenoord. Coincidentally, every managerial candidate Levy has met with has withdrawn from consideration. In the end, as Mourinho pointed out, Levy is at the heart of the problem.
