Major League Baseball (MLB) Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Hermann Marquez is leaving the team due to elbow surgery.
MLB.com announced on the 3rd (Korean time) that “Marquez is out for the season because he decided to undergo elbow ligament joint surgery.” Marquez is scheduled to go to the operating table on the 4th.
Marquez started the game against the Cleveland Guardians on the 27th of last month, but complained of elbow pain in the bottom of the 4th inning and had to withdraw early.
The test he received right after the game came out as a simple triceps problem, but the MRI scan on the last two days revealed that he had a problem with his elbow.
Marquez, who made his big league debut with Colorado in 2016, recorded a career record of 65-56 with a 4.41 ERA.
He went 2-2 with a 4.95 earned run average in four starts this season. In particular, he threw more than 160 innings in 5 of the last 6 seasons and kept an axis of the Colorado starting lineup.먹튀검증
Marquez’s departure is a huge blow for Colorado.
Colorado is currently at the bottom of the National League West Division with 9 wins and 20 losses. It is the only team among 15 National League teams that has not reached the 10-win mark.
The team’s ERA is also 5.36, 27th overall in MLB and last in the National League. In the midst of this, even Marquez fell out, and Colorado faced a bigger crisis.
