One step closer to ‘major league return’…Ryu Hyun-jin to make ‘final rehab start’ in Triple-A game

Ryu Hyun-jin’s return to the big leagues is just around the corner, this time in Triple-A.

According to MLB.com, “Hyun-jin Ryu will pitch for the Toronto affiliate Buffalo Bisons in a minor league Triple-A game at Salem Field in Buffalo, N.Y., on Saturday (Aug. 16).” This will be his third rehab start.

It will be Ryu’s third rehab start. He will face the Detroit Tigers’ Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens.

Previously, Ryu pitched three innings of one-run ball for the FCL Blue Jays in his first rehab start on May 5. He followed that up with a four-hit shutout for the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays on the 10th.카지노사이트

At the time, Ryu’s fastball reached 88.4 miles per hour (142.3 kilometers per hour).

After undergoing Tommy John surgery (elbow ligament splicing) last year, Ryu is on track to return to the major leagues.

“After pitching in the bullpen in May, live in June, and in a minor league game in July, Ryu could be ready to return to the majors in late July,” according to Canadian outlet Sportsnet.

Meanwhile, Ryu has posted a career record of 75-45-1 with one save and a 3.27 ERA in 175 games since breaking into the major leagues in 2013.
