As the trade deadline approaches, Kim Ha-seong is among the San Diego Padres’ top three players to be traded.
On July 17 (KST), American sports media outlet Clutch Point listed three players on the Padres’ trade list.
“San Diego has been a major disappointment this season. After knocking off the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series last year, the Padres were expected to reach new heights this season, but they have underachieved.”
“General manager A.J. Feller is not going to let the team get to this point without trying to make a trade, and San Diego is no stranger to big trades, having made a blockbuster move last year to acquire former All-Star firefighters Josh Hader and Juan Soto.”
With the trade deadline approaching, the publication revealed three players who are off-limits to be traded. They are Ha-Sung Kim, Ryan Weathers (pitcher), and Austin Nola (catcher).
“The South Korean import has become a San Diego fan favorite and needs more playing time,” said Clutch Point.
“He can play second base, shortstop, and third base, and he has a lot to offer on the field,” and “He signed a four-year, $28 million deal two years ago,” praising his value for money.먹튀검증
Kim really came into his own on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Batting eighth, he went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for his second consecutive multi-hit game, and he also played a stellar game on defense.
In the fourth inning, Tampa Bay’s Arozarenas led off with a single to left and tried to steal second base. The second base umpire called the play safe. Convinced he was out, Kim requested a video review and the call was overturned. In the fifth inning, with runners on second and third, Kim caught Diaz’s grounder and threw to third to end the inning.
