Santana traded to Milwaukee for ‘only one contender’

The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded first baseman Carlos Santana, 37, to the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded first baseman Carlos Santana to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league infielder Yoenis Severino, according to MLB.com.

Santana, a switch-hitter, was part of a platoon system at first base with left-hander Ji-Man Choi.

Santana’s departure could open up more opportunities for Choi, 32, who was a position contender.

Choi tore his left Achilles tendon in April of this year, sidelining him for nearly three months, and since returning from the injury on April 8, he has made a splashy return to action, hitting four home runs in eight games (including 11 games as a pinch hitter). Prior to the injury, he had two homers in nine games.바카라사이트
