‘Shock transfer’ in managerial market…PSG hardliner ‘missing Kim’ to take Napoli job

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Christophe Galtier has emerged as the favorite to take over at SSC Napoli.

“Just two weeks after ending his association with PSG, Galtier could take charge of the Italian Serie A champions for the 2022/23 season,” French media outlet L’Equipe reported on Friday.

While no official announcement has yet been made, it is widely expected that Galtier will soon hang up his boots and leave PSG.

After leading fellow French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice to a fifth-place finish in the 2021/22 season, Galtier challenged for the top spot at PSG ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, but failed to meet the expectations of the club and its fans.

Under Galtier, PSG won the league, but suffered early exits in both the UEFA Champions League and the French cup competition, the Coupe de France, in the round of 16.

As a result, Galtier is widely expected to step down after just one year in charge. PSG are reportedly considering Julian Nagelsmann as their first choice to replace Galtier.

However, Galtier, who is on the verge of being sacked by PSG, will be looking for a new job soon. Napoli, the team that won the Italian Serie A title for the first time in 33 years.

Luciano Spalletti, the man who led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, has publicly stated that he wants to take a break from coaching, even though he still has a year left on his contract. The Napoli club has practically acknowledged this.

As for the current relationship between Napoli and Galtier, the source explains, “The path for Galtier to Napoli seems to be quite solid and discussions have already taken place.”

“Galtier is the top choice to replace Spalletti, who has no intention of continuing as Napoli coach despite winning the Italian Serie A title.”먹튀검증

“Napoli have prioritized Galtier over Rudi Garcia and Paulo Soja Salernitana,” the Italian sports daily added, “and although no agreement has been reached, negotiations are taking place in a calm atmosphere.”

Meanwhile, if Galtier is named Napoli’s new boss, he will have to start looking for a replacement for Kim Min-jae, the heart of Napoli’s defense last season and Serie A’s best defender.

One of the best center backs in Europe, Kim is currently attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
