Gareth Bale, who was admired for practicing his golf swing during soccer training, proved his formidable golf skills.
Bale, a retired Welsh soccer star, shot a 7-under 65 in the first round of the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am held at the Spyglass Hill (SH) course in Pebble Beach, California, USA on the 3rd (Korean time). Tied for 18th place, 5 strokes behind the leader. Bale, who was joined by Joseph Bramlett on the PGA Tour, showed off his skills as an amateur master in the second hole, hitting a ball that went off the green and onto the cart road into the hole cup with a bump and run and making a par save. In the Pro-Am round held the day before, Bale also shot a shot that was as good as that of a player, drawing admiration from tour pro players. 먹튀검증
After the game, Bale said, “I played a lot in front of 80,000 spectators, but today was completely different,” and confessed that he was nervous after participating in the official golf tournament.
The Pebble Beach Pro-Am features teams of pros and amateurs competing on three courses, with the top 25 competing in the final round. Professional players also compete for the championship cup with those who passed the cut.
On the other hand, in the professional player category that day, Hank Levioda took the sole lead by hitting 8-under-par 63 with 9 birdies and 1 bogey. Levioda, who has yet to win the tour, participated in five tournaments this season before this tournament and was eliminated from the cut.
Ahn Byeong-hun and Kang Seong-hoon recorded an eagle side by side and scored 2 under par to tie for 47th place with Victor Hoblan and others.
Last year’s winner, Tom Hogi and world number 16 Jordan Spieth, tied for 61st with a mere 1 under par. Matthew Fitzpatrick, who was considered a strong candidate for the championship, also finished 1 under par.
