‘Twins explode with dreams’…’Barnes pitches 7 shutout innings’ Lotte beats SSG to end 4-game losing streak

The Lotte Giants snapped a four-game losing streak thanks to a pair of explosive performances. Foreign pitcher Charlie Barnes was also solid on the mound with a no-hitter.

On June 18, Lotte won 7-2 against the SSG Landers in Munhak. The win snapped a four-game losing streak and kept Lotte in fourth place in the league with 32 wins and 28 losses on the season.

On the day, Lotte scored early and often. In the top of the first inning, Jeon Jun-woo hit a six-pitch 151 km/h fastball from opposing starter Elias for a leadoff solo home run to left field with a distance of 115 meters.

Lotte added another run in the top of the second when Yoon Dong-hee singled and Yoo Kang-nam walked to put runners on first and second, but Park Seung-wook’s grounder to second was misplayed by the opposing second baseman.

Han Dong-hee kept the momentum going. With runners on first and second in the top of the third after a single by Jeon Jun-woo and a walk by Rex, Han took advantage of Elias’ first pitch and lined a two-run double to left-center.

Lotte added another run in the top of the fifth when Yoon Dong-hee doubled to right-center with runners on first and second after singles by Ahn Chi-hong and Han Dong-hee.

Barnes worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the third and a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the fifth to keep her team in the game.

Lotte drove a wedge into the game in the top of the sixth. LOTTE got lucky in the top of the sixth inning when leadoff hitter Kim Min-seok doubled and the next batter, Ko Seung-min, laid down a sacrifice bunt. Ahn Chi-hong followed with an RBI single to left field. Rex’s single put runners on first and third, and Han Dong-hee lined a sacrifice fly to right field.

Barnes improved to 4-3 on the season with a quality start plus a complete game, allowing five runs on seven hits and 94 pitches with four strikeouts and two walks. Barnes dominated the SSG lineup with a fastball that topped out at 147 km/h (34 pitches), a slider (28), a changeup (21), and a two-seam fastball (11).먹튀검증

The team’s bats were evenly matched, with Jeon Jun-woo (2 hits, 1 home run, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored), Ahn Chi-hong (2 hits, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk), Han Dong-hee (2 hits, 2 RBI), and Yoon Dong-hee (3 hits, 1 RBI, 1 run scored).

Lotte scored its first run of the day in the bottom of the eighth inning when pinch-hitter Jeon Eui-san doubled to right field with the bases loaded. However, the LOTTE bench responded with Kim Sang-soo to get out of the jam with runners on first and third. Lotte put Koo Seung-min on the mound in the bottom of the ninth to end the long four-game losing streak.
