Ulsan Hyundai, looking to become Asian champions for the first time in four years, is determined to win against BG Pathum.
Ulsan Hyundai will host BG Pathum in the first leg of their Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) 2023-2024 Group I matchup at the Munsu Football Stadium in Ulsan, South Korea, on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. KST. Starting this season, the ACL will be played as the Chuseok Festival. It will begin in the fall and conclude next spring.
Ulsan, last season’s K League 1 champions, will be looking to win their first title in four years since 2020. Along with Fatum, Ulsan will face Kawashiki Frontale and Johor Taksim. Ulsan hasn’t been playing well lately, and the combination of the league and the ACL could be a fitness issue. However, they can’t afford to miss the ACL. Ulsan will go into the ACL with full force. It is important to win the first match against PATUM.
Head coach Hong Myung-bo said, “We play our first game of the ACL tomorrow. They are a very good team. We played them two years ago, and we have some players left. We are in the middle of the season. We are in the middle of the season, and we will try to continue the good trend not only in the ACL but also in the upcoming K League.”
“Two years ago, we played away from home, and some of the players who played against each other then are still in the team (PATUM). I think we’re a better team now because we have good players. Now it’s home and away. In that sense, we will definitely win the first leg at home.”
“We’re in a bit of a slump in the league. On the contrary, ACL wants to turn the game into a game that can help us move upward in the rest of the league. We will definitely win tomorrow’s game and the games against Suwon FC and Pohang so that we can get a good momentum.”바카라
“I was proud when Ulsan Hyundai won the Champions League. I was proud to be a member of Ulsan Hyundai. It motivates me every game. I played (against BG Pathum) two years ago, but I think they are a good team. We watched the full game and analyzed it well. For tomorrow’s game, we will do our best to get the result we want.”
“My first year as coach of Ulsan, we were in the top four, and last year we were in the qualifiers. Last year we had a clear goal, so we didn’t mind (the ACL result). Of course, the season is coming to an end. The ACL is a new start. It’s a different format than before. Next, there is an important match (meaning) because the first match to start the season next year is the ACL. It’s important to calculate these things well and pass the qualifiers that are happening this year. It’s a good and honorable thing to go to the Leader’s ACL. It’s a different type of season, but we’ll do our best to achieve good results.”
Cho Hyun-woo, who also participated in the press conference with Hong Myung-bo, said, “I’m playing my first ACL game. I’m really looking forward to it. I hope both teams have fun and finish well without any injuries. At every home game, many Ulsan fans come to the stadium to support us, and we will bring both performance and results.” He promised to win.
